Recording Consent
Last updated: July 19, 2026
Speaking Practice
When you start speaking practice, your browser captures audio from your microphone. When recording stops, Crobsly uploads the recording and links it to your account and the speaking task.
Your Choice
Recording does not begin until you actively acknowledge this notice and select Start Recording. You can choose not to use speaking recording. Once a response has been submitted, you can request its deletion, but withdrawing consent does not invalidate processing that occurred before withdrawal.
How We Use Recordings
We use submitted recordings to deliver speaking practice, enable playback and review, provide feedback or practice scores, troubleshoot technical issues, maintain service security, and improve content and review quality.
Review Access
Authorized Crobsly administrators and, where applicable, institution instructors may access submitted recordings to provide feedback, score practice work, troubleshoot issues, and maintain content quality.
Before Recording
Do not record sensitive personal information that is not needed for the practice prompt. Use speaking practice only when you are comfortable submitting the recording for review.
Storage And Retention
Recordings are stored using Crobsly's cloud storage provider and protected by account-based access controls. We retain them while needed for your account, review history, security, and legal obligations, unless you request deletion sooner and no exception applies.
Age And Authorization
You must meet the age requirements in our Terms of Service. If you are not legally able to provide recording consent yourself, a parent, guardian, school, or institution must provide any authorization required by law.
Deletion
You may request deletion of a recording or your account through the data deletion process. We aim to respond within 30 days, subject to identity verification, legal requirements, and temporary backup retention.
